Wild Dogs Under My Skirt

In 2002 Tusiata Avia devised and performed a 50 minute solo show called Wild Dogs Under My Skirt, first performed at Dunedin Fringe Festival 2002. She went on to perform it throughout Aotearoa, from Dunedin to Auckland, and overseas in Germany, Austria, Hawai’i, Russia, American Samoa, and Australia. In 2004 she published her first book of poetry under the same title.

This show was directed by Rachel House, and performed at the Musgrove Theatre, Auckland, New Zealand on March 9 and 10 2007 as part of the AKO7 Festival (Stage Manager / Lighting: Sean Lynch; Video Production: Tim Page; Project Manager of Film Production: Selina Tusitala Marsh). Excerpts are reproduced here by permission from Tusiata Avia.
