Michael Harlow lives and works in Alexandra, Central Otago. He is a poet, editor and translator and in 2009 he held the Robert Burns Fellowship at the University of Otago and was the first writer to take up a residency at the Caselberg cottage in Dunedin. His most recent collections include Cassandra’s Daughter (2005) and The Tram Conductor’s Blue Cap (2009), both from Auckland UP. In March 2009 Michael launched The Tram Conductor’s Blue Cap in Auckland and collaborated with Poetry off the Page students as they chalked poems around campus. He was also videoed reading selections from the book for nzepc and was presented with a Tapa Notebook which he returned in November 2009 during the launch of Phantom Billstickers’ poem posters in Dunedin.
