David Eggleton is a poet, writer, critic and editor who lives in Dunedin. He's been involved in a number of sculpture, dance and music collaborations — including text for multi-media installations in public art galleries, text for a menswear clothing design garments, and text for site-specific sculptures in Queenstown and Wellington — as well as releasing several albums recorded with musicians. His poems and short stories appear in a wide variety of recent literary anthologies. His three most recent poetry books are: Fast Talker (Auckland University Press 2006), Time of the Icebergs (Otago University Press 2010), and The Conch Trumpet (Otago University Press 2015). He won the 2016 Ockham New Zealand Book Award for Poetry, and also received the 2016 New Zealand Prime Minister's Award for Literary Achievement in Poetry.
