Serie Barford was born in Aotearoa to a German-Samoan mother and a palagi father. She has published three poetry collections: Plea to the Spanish Lady (Hard Echo Press), Glass Canisters (Hard Echo Press) and Tapa Talk (Huia). Her fourth collection Entangled Islands (Anahera Press) is a mixture of poetry and short fiction. Serie held the Seresin Landfall Residency in 2011 and is published in a variety of anthologies. She lives in West Auckland.


Poem notes

These poems are all drawn from Tapa Talk (Huia, 2007) and Entangled Islands (Anahera, 2015) except for the title poem of Plea to the Spanish Lady (Hard Echo, 1985).
