As part of the SHORT TAKES ON LONG POEMS symposium in Auckland, participants generated text for a poem to be laid out on Oneroa Beach, Waiheke Island on the afternoon of 30 March 2012. The tide was falling, the sand was firm, locals, horses and dogs got involved, and at five o’clock poets walked the length of the beach and read their collaborative efforts aloud. Languages, authors and fonts achieved happy collusion, documented here by crowd-sourced photos and an audio recording made by Ella O’Keefe.
