SEVEN STARS
PAULA GREEN

you need a dark
site to see the stars
lift above the dividing line
slightly to the north of the point
of sunrise and flick
like moths to the blue

but the city saturates the horizon
in washed out light and all you see
is a shooting star a satellite station
sky city the neighbour’s dog
before streaks of cloud
block your view
