                                She&   I

                                              are briefly modest

               that is , we  undress

                                               as if reserved

               or  comply with, some local protocol

                                                             of
  cool&  little display

                by one - for one - that one will bed


                                 I had  come

                                                 on  her invitation

                to drop  around,&  get it,  on -

                                                         which
  now

                                   i’m not quite ready  to

                                                                but

                I turn&  see

                                 her form explained

                                                       by art
  history –

              by  Caravaggio’s hard light

                                                  from  a  single
  source

              which, on our  left

                                      horizontally rakes

                                                               her
  right

              &  the  suspected attitude

                                                of her breasts,
  confirm –


                                             &  ;

                            I am left hard

                                                by this

                    Renascent

                                 -  a  boy, again

                                                      seeking womens
  naked form

                  where it  was  to be  found -

                                       in books -   my parents

                         Treasures of the Prado&   the Louvre

            in  which, arts holy pinups

                                              the  majas, madonnas

                          &   various  whores

              symbolised  something,&  displayed


  themselves




                                                  So

                                        for  her&   this night

            &   that perving boy

                                       I make  this poem
