Mesh

and and
fallen
that fugitive
over over
unfold myself
carefully
be cold
thy envoy
night upon
season season
memory prompted                            and and languid
these watched                                   washing fallen peg
tablets yet                                         that fugitive line
over over the light as air
                                                        crossing, unfold myself laggard
                                                        carefully floating milk
in the sink mother be cold
                                                       thy envoy weightless
                                                       night upon subtile
                                                       season picaresque season
                                                       weak memory lethean prompted
                                                       slow these watched garments
                                                       sluggish tablets dilatory yet

and and languid
oblivial washing fallen peg
that fugitive line
over malted over the light as air
crossing, fugacious unfold myself laggard
carefully floating milk words
in the sink mother be cold
thy crucial envoy weightless
night upon subtile lumbering
season picaresque season
weak memory lethean prompted crossing
slow these watched garments
sluggish tablets dilatory clean forgotten yet

and and languid in the brittle
oblivial washing for eyes fallen peg high and dry
that fugitive diamond line beside me in bed
over malted over the light as air paper dog howling at the achromatic
crossing, fugacious night kept ajar, I unfold myself laggard affluent
carefully floating milk words bright wax to call for fairy tales
in the sink mother be cold frozen limbs I am no longer
thy crucial envoy weightless in the moods of the sea
night upon subtile lumbering, land firm as rock as
season picaresque season and I wake
weak memory lethean prompted crossing now the stage is locked
slow these watched garments one for me one for me
sluggish tablets dilatory clean forgotten upon my fingers yet

and and
fallen for
diamond line
malted air
night crossing
words floating
in limbs
in moods
lumbering night
and season
locked memory
slow garments
upon yet

“Mesh” moves amongst Ursula Bethell’s poem, “Envoy,”
my poem “The Wild Side in Me,” and the effects of a head injury.
