The Faint Blue Line Of Chalk

The faint blue line of chalk had reminded him
They drank their gins and then one by one
They walked into the water
They walked into the water

It came to him his travelling had to end
The world was cheap and rather small
and full of pretense
And cities much too hot
Cities much too hot

The attic window looked across a valley far below
And apple trees and yellow grass
Hid the broken bones
There will be no excitement
There will be no excitement

Coincidence, coincidence keeps the party laughing
Man is full of misery but the cook is on our side
Preserve us from corruption
Preserve us from corruption.
