 Capital of  the minimal

from Karitane Postcards

The letters of the alphabet     capital I
coming this way     I followed     wanting to know
the beginnings and the destination
other letters colliding as I ducked into doorways
a private investigator with letters behind my name
under contract agreement of agreement     letterpress
of syllables dreams to be followed
a shape out there of the shape in here
crowds intensive desire to be part of the scene
the pejorative     and enclitic     the vogue     the style
the buzz     the trigger     seeing ourselves
as bigger than we are     I more than I can think I am
I think I see you more than I
no excuse I follow     free recall     not always foresight
forthright     sometimes not here at all
and to some extent led     so where are you
breaking through in metaphor as an idea
an explicit ethic     I walk bang up against     a shadow maybe
but impact that pain or pleasure smell of skin
oils scent flowers     all the senses words give over.
