Wasn’t your writing made me
I leapt at your eyes
conspired with desire
to make something more lasting than material things
I wanted to be air and sunlight
the energy of it all
though that’s not what spoke
if anything was said at the time
time didn’t enter
speaking to one’s self more than one’s self
making something personal all your life
love in all those forms
in endless conversation.
