from Karitane Postcards

58

Clearing the mind knots and branches
under the pull of the moon
Rona made her way     she flew after the moon
turned into shadow
invulnerable up there     her husband and children
returned home to the glow of oven stones.
Rona come back     where are you
we are pulled     through your absence and again
some early morning you are turning the hills
in your gaze.
