A door is the presence
of opening
and shutting, the feel
of swinging
inwards and outwards,
a pulling back
or a pushing forward,
the expectation of visitors
(and departures),
the hoarding
of secrets and privacy,
a locking in
a locking out,
the return
the escape, the possibility
of all that.
A door contemplates all
its possibilities
and knows
it is all
other doors.
