HAYTER

Effigies seen in the name of Hayter
Twang echoes into ritual

For YOU of HIM
In gamut of aesthetic

With cat gut to a violin
As boots floor walls to his painting

WHO on this floor of a gallery
Self-lured to savour hypnotic mind juice

Lick the cat chops of experience
Where mind stands confronted with mind

Not by museum label or institution
But by the work of one man

Seeking responsibility for his version
Of the transparent skin of the universe

Revealing unique and priceless scarecrows
Guarding the seeds of experience

Acrid dyed flamboyant and confident they stand
Vital as those of exhumed cultures

They state the primitive faith in eternity
In colors of life and death

Such living candescent signs
We ignite now to show

Some luminous version of the future
From ourselves long ago
