These found lines in the apartment
belong to Willy- their surprising indications -
the cold chicken stowaged in the refrigerator or
in an unsuspecting corner of the bookshelf
a neatness of place around the unnoticed
music stand, say - cues moving from sign
to signified deftly, on the wire, stock
in the Aubecq pot telling Willy to participate
to add celery etc and not to worry
as S has gone to Brest-Litovsk for a while
on the train. Thanks for the lines you left
in all the rooms for Willy like Anselm moving about,
who says when again I meet the writer I'll wear a certain
blouse, hands on my hips, and it will be September
