the wimmin carried in their ironing boards
set them up

plugged in their irons

they began ironing together    set on silk
raised it to linen
men’s shirts    a few synthetics suffered

one of the wimmin
walked around the room
removing the asbestos pads
where the iron rests were    on old model boards
          (dangerous if cut or sawn)

when the shirts were ironed
the wimmin put them on
rolled the sleeves to the elbow
and drove home together
fast

they were not stopped
